See, at first, my gameBridge 1410 worked, but when i moved my computers, i forgot in which USB port i had it installed and, one thing leading to another, i panicked and tried to uninstall the drivers and software...

the problem is, now i can't re-install the drivers as Windows cannot find them. i am not very good with computers, so can anyone help me? i think it might have its roots in the registry and, well, I should mention that I tried using the "uninstall GB" and it doesn't work, aborting at the last second for some reason...

Sadly, my brother was a victim of CompUSA closing their retail stores. He started working for them as a part time sales person back in the early 1990's. He was in the right place at the right time and moved into the position of technology buyer...a really sweet position. From there he took the position of rescuing stores that were not doing well and making them profitable and then stepped into the role of general manager. He had just moved into the position of store auditor just before the California stores closed. Even as the newest auditor, his position was saved. Well, with this latest move of CompUSA little bro is back in the job market after 15+ years with the same company. Thankfully he received a decent severance package and he's money savvy so things are not dire. I'm just sad because he worked so hard. It always seemed like he was left to bail out a ship that was taking on water with a teaspoon. I know he'll be fine and the next company that gets him will be incredibly lucky. He's personable, smart, knowledgeable, takes care of the people who work for him and the people he works for and has the work ethic of my father's generation. Hi. I have a Win TV-Go+ and I tried the link given to me. I ran the program, it did some stuff, and then told me "drivers not installed, click to exit." Any ideas on that one? Vista Home Premium btw.


Did you install this driver: WWW Link ? If no, try to install it. If yes you can try:
A- Go to "Control Panel" >> "System" >> "Device Manager" and check if in "Sound, video and game controller" the Hauppauge Driver is installed (for audio and video), if not you will find at "Other Devices” something about multimedia controller, try to update driver of everything in there (you can also get this drivers for your tvcard using "Windows Update", in the control panel)

B - If you find Hauppauge Driver installed in "Sound, video and game controller" try to uninstall, using "Programs and Features" (“Control Panel”), everything you find from Hauppauge, and then, in the "Device Manager", also uninstall the Hauppauge drivers, and then restart your pc. When you reenter windows, reinstall first the drivers using Windows Update" or in "Device Manager", like I said in paragraph "A", and in second place the Hauppauge's software ( WWW Link )

Do a search on the internet and you will see many people have tried, but cannot get the installation CD to recognize the device and install the drivers. Here is the correct procedure for Vista:

1. Keep your Adaptec Gamebridge unit unplugged from the USB Port.

2. Insert the CD. When a box comes up, click on the option that allows you to browse the contents of the disc.

3. Double Click on the Software Folder.

4. Right click on InstallGB. Select Properties. Click the Compatibility tab. Make sure you run this program for Windows XP SP2 Mode, and Select Run as Administrator. Click on OK.

5. Double Click the Intervideo Folder. Find Setup.exe Repeat step 4 on this file.

6. Once you are done, Go back one, and double click on Install GB.

7. When it tells you to plug in the device, do it. On the install device wizard, click on automatically install software. If you get a dialog box about a digital signature (usually with a red background) , Click on install anyway. Note, this will be repeated one more time.

8. When this is finished, Intervideo Home Theater will launch the installation as normal.

9. Restart your computer when you are asked to, and it now will work.

PLEASE NOTE: There are minor issues with Gamebridge on Vista 1. The program switches the color scheme to Vista Basic. 2. The audio will sound kinda funny , like going from low to high pitched (fluxuating) This can be worked around if you go into the ask manager and set the CPU process for above normal. Thats It! Have fun playing video games!

If you don't run as admin it will kick you off the server, not a big deal though.

Actually all you have to do is download the punkbuster updater from Here and update your punkbuster client, then you don't have to run it admin mode. Of course that's granted you have disabled the UAC which I did right away.

The worst thing with Vista was that I often got a blue screen at boot up . Then the computer would prompt me whether I wanted to run windows recovery. This was on a new computer running an Athlon duo core 5000+ with the latest main board. It was an open box computer that had previously been returned. I do not know if Vista is glitched or if I had a corrupted copy. I have found the graphics driver updates from nVidia a disappointment so far. I've had to stick with the driver from Feb as it runs everything quicker and more reliably, although I haven't tried the very latest update yet as I've been distracted by a water leak in the PC cooling system shorting the graphics card and having to become a plumber...it's working again now after drying out although I suspect it's not too happy after the experience, and might be my excuse to upgrade it fairly soon - especially as the PC is only a few months old so I'll be contacting the manufacture and expecting them to take responsibility for it

I am running vista..Home premium and I have lots of "fluff" as one would say .. Part being Desktop X, Object Dock 1.9 Plus, WB 5.5 other "customizing" stuff..

I also have lots of Games...
I Run/Play City Of Heroes/Villains, Guild Wars *all 3*, Pirates of the Burning Sea, Tales of Pirates, Voyage Century and Dungeon Runners... NONE of these MMOs give me ANY Problem..


I also have The Sims *all" The Sims 2 *all but Open for Buiness*. Zoo Tycoon *all* Zoo Tycon 2 *all but dino danger*, Fable (The Lost Chapters" Clive Barkers "UNDYING", Need for Speed Underground 1 and 2 And OTHERS..

NO Issues with these games either.. ALL run great and NO Lag...

THere is ONE game that I Have that Vista DOESN"T seem to like for some reason. Thats American McGee's ALICE.. *which I love but don't run right now*

I found the USPS actually works pretty well.

They've lost whole containers of product that we've shipped out before.  Never had that happen with anyone else.  My favorite, though, was when I got half of a check in the mail placed in a plastic bag with a "sorry" letter that basically said that they process millions of letters a day and I should be happy that more don't get ripped in half.  I got the other half about 2 months later.  lol

You will not have no problems. A computer goes down the drain after 2 years. All Games and softwear that come out every year require you to have more Ram or a better proccesor.
Same goes with vista. Just think about your first computer wich probably had 34mb of ram with windows 98 and then try to install xp. Good luck. That goes with games.
if your computer is not up to date your going to have problems.
Like someone said if vista has a probleme with a game, It will try to fix the problem if it can. as long as you have all requirement.

Again if your going to upgade to Vista then buy a knew computer. you will see that thing will go smooth and you will never look back to XP.

Its sad to say to buy a computer but thats just how the computer word works.
Tecnology only gets better at a fast rate.

Far Cry works but the sand looks blue, which is funny as your on a tropical island. Might be my graphics card though( Nvidia 6200 256mb, AGPx8).

Ford Racing 2 will not work.

Will stick with my Xbox for games for now, untill I upgrade my PC.

Also my emulators work fine. SNES, MegaDrive, NES, N64, PS1 and PC Engine all work.

Vista is a funny beast when it comes to games.

My experience with Total Annihilation on Vista hasn't been so great.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be causing Total Annihilation to crash after 15 or 20 minutes of game-play on Vista? I installed TA, CC, the File Universe "All in one patch" (i.e. 3.1 patch, all Cavedog units, TA demo recorder and the improved battleroom). I also installed the File Universe 5000 unit patch.

Everything seems to work just peachy (with TA performing better than I've ever seen it, even against 9 AIs) until it gets 15 or 20 minutes into the game. At that point, the game just cuts out and I get an error window saying "Total Annihilation has stopped working".

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can debug this? Could this be caused by video driver issues? Should I just apply the 3.1 patch and nothing else? Running with elevated privileges, and turning off sound hasn't helped.
